GENERAL GYMNASTICS SECTION
Our General programme is suitable for all ages and levels. It provides an entry to gymnastics for younger children to begin gymnastics, classes for children who wish to participate in gymnastics for fun and fitness (without the pressure to compete) and gymnasts may then also progress into a competitive stream if they show desire and make good progress.
Our Girls and Boys General Floor and Vault programme develops our gymnasts to compete regionally within Scotland. Gymnasts on this pathways may train upto 5 hours per week.
CLASSES
Fun and Fitness Class
This class allows gymnasts to experience gymnastics in a relaxed session without pressure to attend competitive events. The emphasis is on enjoyment, fitness and gaining new skills.

Beginners 1 Class
Our Beginners class is aimed at young school age children age 4-7 years. This class teaches the basics shapes and skills needed for development of gymnastics skills in an encouraging environment. Gymnasts will work through a structured proficiency process to ensure they experience a challenging and supportive development.

Beginners / Intermediate 2 Class
This class is aimed at children age 8 and over and focuses on shapes, skills development and enjoyment of gymnastics. Gymnasts will continue to progress through a structured proficiency process to ensure they experience a challenging and supportive development.

Mixed Boys and Girls Floor and Vault Development Class
This class begins the development towards competitive Floor and Vault and the focus is on developing skills towards the Scottish Gymnastics Competitive Skills Matrix. Gymnasts in this class will also be eligible to compete in the Lasswade Gymnastics Club Championships and some may be selected to compete in local competitions. At any point where the coach or gymnast feels that the progress and/or commitment is falling behind the requirements, then a parents meeting will be arranged to discuss options to help the gymnast get back on track and/or discuss options for their future training. Please remember every gymnast develops at differing rates and it is not unusual for gymnasts to alter their pathway/training schedule during their time in gymnastics.

Boys / Girls Intermediate Floor and Vault Class
Our Intermediate floor and vault class will focus on developing the skills needed to compete in local and regional floor and vault competitions, while allowing gymnasts to spend a little time on other apparatus to develop conditioning. These gymnasts may be invited to an additional strength and conditioning session an some may progress onto the MA/WA Development Squads. Gymnasts in these classes will be invited to compete in regional floor and vault competitions. Please remember that this is a competitive pathway and gymnasts in this group will be expected to attend competitions when invited. Boys / Girls Advanced Floor and Vault Class
Our Advanced floor and vault class is for gymnasts who the coaching team believe would benefit from a longer session. Gymnasts will experience all pieces of apparatus with a focus on developing a higher level of skills on Floor and Vault for the competition programme. These gymnasts will also be invited to a Strength and Conditioning and Tumble development session. Gymnasts in these classes will be invited to compete in regional floor and vault competitions and may also be invited to compete in the Scottish Floor and Vault Championships. Gymnasts in these classes will be invited to compete in regional floor and vault competitions. Please remember that this is a competitive pathway and gymnasts in this group will be expected to attend competitions when invited.
